Pet Travel

Due to a change in the process of pet travel we help guide you through it. We will be providing some more information soon, however, in the meantime if you require more information on pet travel, give us a call and speak to us about what you will need to do to be sure your pet can travel.

From Jan 2020, as a result of the UK leaving the EU, pet passports are no longer accepted when traveling abroad. For EU countries the new procedure requires issue of a health certificate within 10 days of the travel date. Rabies vaccines are compulsory and these must be given a minimum of 21 days before travel.

For certain countries including Ireland, tapeworm treatment must also be administered by the Vet at the surgery and again within specific time frames.

Countries outside of the EU each have their own requirements and these are dealt with on an individual basis.

Please contact the surgery if you are intending to travel with a pet and we can then guide you through the process in line with your destination country.
